The Breakfast Before Hours event was held on November 2, 2011 in the Career Center and the Natural Chef Cafe. The Chatham County JobLink Career Center is located on the campus of Central Carolina Community College in Building 1 (flagpole) on the 2nd floor of the Pittsboro campus. It appeared that all of the business representatives that were in attendance had a great time and learned a great deal about how the JobLink Career Center can assist with locating and hiring highly qualified staff as well as other employer services.
Vicki Newell, Executive Director of Chatham Literacy Council, Theresa Isley, Outreach Coordinator for Coalition for Family Peace, and Mike Williams, Youth Case Manager with WIA were present as partners of the JobLink Center and were also on hand to answer questions and provide a tour of the center's resource area, computer area, cubicle areas, and conference room space. Dr. Stelfanie Williams, vice president of Economic and Community Development, along with Chairman R.A. "Bud" Schlademan of the Triangle South Workforce Development Board and Rosalind M. Cross, Director of Triangle South Workforce Development Board were on hand to assist with the event. Cherice Powell, coordinator for the Chatham County JobLink Career Center and planner for the event disseminated helpful information regarding activities and services for the center.
After an overview of the center's employer services and a tour of the space, business representatives were treated to a wonderful breakfast prepared by students of Central Carolina Community College's Natural Chef Program. Chef Greg Hamm was on hand to oversee cuisine preparation and to provide an overview of the curriculum program. Representatives were provided a behind the scenes look at how food was prepared by visiting the food stations in the cooking area of the Natural Chef Cafe.
As a result of holding this event, businesses are more aware of the services that are provided at the Chatham County JobLink Career Center and Central Carolina Community College's Natural Chef Cafe.
